Hensall District Co-operative 75th Anniversary Celebration [Extended Coverage]
Hensall District Co-operative celebrated its Diamond Anniversary with a customer appreciation day filled with activities for the whole family. Activities included all day catering provided by Pineridge BBQ Catering Company in Hensall, a jumping castle, juggling, and a magic show for kids. Interviews with HDC CEO Earl Wagner who started in sales at the Co-op 48 years ago explains how all past directors gathered to reminisce and expects around 1500 customers with their families, politicians, co-op directors and staff to celebrate the day. Bill Dowson a former co-op board member explains how the contribution from every board member has made what HDC is today. Wife of Malcolm Davidson, Jane Davidson says her husband and Eric Luther were a driving force in 1964 for a new beginning of HDC. Jane originally from Europe said there is no where else she would rather live than Huron County. Malcolm’s legacy was honored with the road in Hensall that leads to HDC being named Davidson Drive. Dave Delbridge, Feed Business Unit Manager at HDC, who said HDC supplies food to over 60 countries around the world, adding value for their retail customers and farmer suppliers at the end of the day.
