$1.3 million Government Funding For New Aerospace Manufacturing Training Facility

The Federal government is investing more than $1.3 million for the creation of an aerospace manufacturing training facility at Goderich Aircraft in Huron Park through FedDev Ontario. Huron-Bruce MP Ben Lobb made the announcement at Goderich Aircraft on behalf of the Minister of State. With the support of the HBDC and its partners the training facility is expected to create or retain 60 skilled manufacturing jobs by 2010, with an additional 235 jobs added by 2015. South Huron Mayor Ken Oke says its a win for everyone, Goderich Aircraft president Blaine Field says his company will grow to 250 people in the next 3-5 years. Michael Hanwell of Fanshawe College says the announcement could be the start of something big for Huron county.
