Centralia Airport was officially renamed to the James T. Field Memorial Airport Sept. 23 2007, after Blaine Field President of Goderich Aircraft purchased the property. Blaine named the airport after his father James T. Field in honor of his memory. Blaine hopes the purchase of the airport will preserve its history and renaming it will preserve the high standards his father always stood for he said. Over 500 attended the event that included live entertainment, and aerial demonstration of Harvard aircraft.
