Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty was a guest speaker at the Canadian Auto Workers Family Education Centre in Port Elgin April 13 2007. Speaking to 800 delegates at the C.A.W. Council meeting. This is the first time an Ontario Premier has been invited to speak to the CAW council. CAW National President Buzz Hargrove was thrilled to have the Premier speak, saying the Premier is a leader on understanding the importance of manufacturing and the auto industry. In his opening speech Buzz said McGuinty is a champion of the auto industry. Buzz also noted McGuinty’s idea on trade fairness align with the unions. After the Premier had lunch with South Huron Mayor Ken Oke where they discussed the mayors economic development strategy and thanked the Premier’s government for their investment in the municipality.
