In June 2005 local author and historian (Wally) Peter Fydenchuk was invited to show and explain his book “Before The Battle” covering World War 2 history at Huron Park. The program entitled “History Resurfacing” has covered key historical facts at Huron Park (formerly know as RCAF Station Centralia) with first hand photos of aircraft, men and women stationed there both during WWII and post war NATO days. He also spoke of his other book “Immigrants Of War” which documents the fascinating story of the 8000 plus Americans who served with the Canadian and British Air Forces (RCAF and RAF) during WWII.
